Two Exmouth artists have been keeping spirits up during the pandemic by providing free arts and crafts kits to the local community - and are now calling for donations to help them continue.

Hayley Watson and Livvy Hylton Smith created the project, Isolation Community Creations, in response to the growing need for people to isolate during the pandemic. They also set up a Facebook page for people to share their creations, watch tutorials, and stay connected online.

Hayley won the 'Local Hero' award in the Exmouth Chamber of Commerce Business Awards 2021 last month on 11 June for her efforts.

Eventually, the pair would like to be able to have a fully-equipped mobile arts and crafts bus so that they can provide workshops to promote mental wellbeing.

On Saturday 24 July, Isolation Community Creations attended the Exmouth Organ Donors event in the Strand, and raised enough money to provide as many as 15 families with the free kits.

Hayley said: "Thank you so much! We still have another 56 more families this week to support that are in isolation, which is really affecting their mental health.

"So we need to get more packs out fast for some mindfulness and wellbeing - we have no more donations to support this.

"If anyone would like to help, please donate and support us!

"I've been funding all of this on my own now for the past year and a half out of my life savings.

"With no work due to Covid I can no longer fund it, so any help would be amazing!"

If you would like to help Hayley and Livvy provide more arts and crafts kits to people in the local community, you can donate to their Crowdfunder here.
