A dead conger eel has been found on Exmouth beach.

Officers from Ottery St Mary police photographed the eel and tweeted that they were 'about to break out doing the conga' after they spotted it.

Conger eels are mainly found around the western coast of Britain and the largest one on record caught by a fisherman was landed off Berry Head, Brixham, in 1995. It weighed 133lb 4oz.
