Police have issued an alert warning of a van looking for scrap metal

Police have issued an alert telling the public to be aware of suspicious circumstances in the Knowle area near Budleigh Salterton.

The incident took place yesterday, and involved a van driving onto a farm and reportedly looking for scrap metal.

The alert read: "The incident took place at 12.50pm on Wednesday 10 November.

"A white twin cab Ford Transit van with black sides drove into the entrance to a farm in the Knowle area the van slowly toured around the farm looking for scrap metal and then left.

"The van is believed to have sign writing on the sides possibly in the form of Q&A.

"No offences have been committed but you are asked to be aware of it should it be seen in your area."
