Exmouth fire fighters called to vehicle blaze

Exmouth fire crew were called out early, at around 4.30am this morning (Oct 20), after fire control received reports of a vehicle on fire in the centre of Exmouth.

One fire engine from Exmouth was quickly mobilised to the scene where a vehicle was well alight on a public road.

According to a spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue: "Crews extinguished the fire using one hose reel jet, one breathing apparatus, one thermal imaging camera, small tools, and lighting.

"Crews reported the fire destroying 70 per cent of the vehicle as well as causing some fire damage to a second nearby vehicle.

"The fire is believed to be accidental."
