Exmouth Town Council has announced that there will be a family-friendly mini winter festival in the town in December with carol singing, live music, and the annual children's lantern parade.

It will take place on Saturday 4 December from 4pm until 8pm on the Strand, and feature local choirs and musicians performing on a temporary stage, with 'festive walk-about performers including roller-skating presents, light up hula hoopers and larger than life animals'.

Primary schools in the town have been invited to participate in making willow lanterns, with materials provided by the town council. The lantern parade will start at 5.30pm and head over for the Christmas tree light switch-on at 6pm.

Councillor Steve Gazzard, Mayor of Exmouth said: "We're delighted to be hosting a winter celebration that will bring the community together with music and light.

"It's the perfect opportunity to enjoy being back amongst friends and to welcome in the festive season together."
