Exmouth fitness fantastics involved in an organisation dedicated to helping the community have been celebrating a special award.

Fitness organisation Tri-Hards is thrilled to announce it has won 'The Devon Pride Awards 2020 for Community Sport'.

Tri-Hards is now one of Exmouth's largest community sport and fitness groups - welcoming gents and ladies of all ages, shapes, sizes and abilities.

Founder Shelly Stammers said she and her husband Neil received the news a good few weeks ago but had been asked to keep it a secret until October.

She said: "Those of you who know me well, will understand just how difficult this was for me.

"Mid-September, we had a recording interview with the radio where they announced that Tri-Hards had won 'The Devon Pride Awards 2020 for Community Sport'.

"I've cried, cried and cried happy tears.

"I've been desperate to share the news with you all. Thank you so so much to every single one of you that voted for us and continue to support our this incredible community.

"This award will help raise the awareness of Tri-Hards and at the same time help this fantastic group to grow and reach out to even more individuals that need support, friendships and fitness."

Shelly dedicated the trophy to all their volunteers who give up their time to support admin, host events, lead courses, offer help to members and most of all keep the wheels on the bus turning.

She added: "Without them there would be no Tri-Hards. They are incredibly special."
