Exmouth RNLI was called out to help two people reported to be in difficulty on the River Exe.

The RNLI Inshore Lifeboat D-755 Peggy-D was called out to a report of a paddleboarder in difficulty on Sunday, October 25, at about 1pm.

The boat was called to the Exe Estuary near Pole Sands and, a short time afterwards, found a kitesurfer near Cockle Sands.

Upon arrival it was quickly established that the paddleboarder did not require any assistance.

The crew was called to a second location and found a kitesurfer, but was not in any difficulty and was actually undertaking a course of instruction by a qualified personel and was properly supervised.

Having satisfied themselves that both assignments were false alarms with good intent, the crew made their way back to Exmouth Lifeboat Station where the lifeboat was back on service at 2.15pm the same day.
