A serving Royal Marine has now begun a 30-day walk from Land's End to John O'Groats to raise money for an Exmouth PTSD charity.

Kheiron Howard started the mammoth journey on Sunday 1 August, and will be walking 30 miles each day and sleeping in a hammock at night.

He is dedicating each two-mile stretch to a life lost in the conflict in Afghanistan, and seeks to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Kheiron and his wife Rebecca founded Exmouth PTSD charity My Oppo: Supporting Families with PTSD ('my 'oppo' is military slang for 'my friend') to raise awareness of PTSD and bring together the families of people living with the condition so that they don't have to cope alone.

The charity's support activities include online personal training, sessions with a life coach, Zoom meetings and presents to lift the spirits of families.

Kheiron and Rebecca have set up a GoFundMe page to pay the daily cost of his journey of around £30 for food and water – any extra raised will go to the charity.
