It’s not quite sail (or even Sale for the Chiefs fans) but this weekend, it’s Hayle away, Hayle away, Hayle away… sorry!

Yes, round 5 is upon us and the boys go into this one fresh from last week’s epic final-minute win against Saltash at Raleigh Park.

After a sluggish start, Tom Cooke’s penalty and second half tries from Will Hockin, George Doughty and that try from Dave Thomson, the boys came away with a much needed 22-21 win; with the result keeping us in 10th position in the table with 7pts. It’s still early in the season though and there’s plenty of opportunities to improve on this, especially with the grit and determination the boys showed last week. However, additional injuries picked up during the game will add to Sam’s selection headache going into this game.

Our hosts, Hayle, have experienced a shaky start to the season and are currently still looking for that first win, leaving them bottom in twelfth place on -5pts. Last weekend, the lions headed to Cullompton, with the game finishing 80-0 to Cully.

When it comes to the meetings between the two sides, we’re only too aware that trips down to southern Cornwall are always tough encounters so the usual early pressure (and points) is key to remain in control of the game and keep last week’s momentum going and get that second win.

The game on Saturday kicks off at 3pm from Memorial Park in Hayle (TR27 4PS).

We’d love to see as many of you travel down to support the boys. The weather may not be totally in our favour, but nothing a coat and a beer can’t handle!

For those who are unable to make the journey, live score updates from the game can be found online here.
