Fire cylinders involved at Woodbury Salterton

Date: 02.10.2018Time: 20:56Location: Woodbury SaltertonDevon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received a call from a member of the public reporting a fire with gas cylinders involved.

Three fire appliances from Exmouth and Topsham, a Water Bowser from Torquay and an environmental protection unit from Newton Abbott were mobilised by fire control.

The officer in charge, confirmed there to be a large fire involving waste materials, cylinders, a diesel tank and an HGV trailer.

Crews got to work to extinguish the fire using breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets and one main jet.

Fire crews monitored hotspots for some time before leaving the incident.
