Simon Jupp, MP for East Devon, has backed the county council's Levelling Up Fund bid to get government cash to complete the Dinan Way ring road and improve parts of the town centre.

He said: "I'm really pleased to back this exciting multi-million pound bid to help regenerate Exmouth and improve journeys into the town centre and high street.

"Working with local councillors, Devon County Council and East Devon District Council, we're putting forward a strong bid to help make Exmouth an even better place to live and work.

"I will continue to lobby the government as I have done since my election for further investment in Exmouth and across East Devon."

What could this mean for Exmouth?

Drivers currently have to use residential roads to reach Liverton Business Park. If the funds are secured, they can be used to extend Dinan Way to connect with the A376.

Plans for the town centre include the removal of the underpass, the planting of more trees, better cycle and footpaths from the station to the town, and a new area for local and public art.

Exmouth's bid is the county council's priority application for the Levelling Up Fund.
