Woman rescued from house fire in Exmouth

Fire services were called to a house fire at Lovelace Crescent in Exmouth at 20.08 yesterday evening.

According to a statement issued by Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue: "Fire Control received a call reporting a house on fire with somebody still inside the property.

"Fire engines from Exmouth and Budleigh Salterton were quickly mobilised, along with an Operational Assurance Officer.

"Fire crews were soon on scene and confirmed a small fire in a bedroom of the property.

"One female was rescued from the premises by firefighters.

"Two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet, one thermal image camera and one positive pressure ventilation fan were used to tackle the fire which was successfully extinguished."

The cause of the fire is being investigated by Devon and Cornwall Police.
