A man from Budleigh Salterton took on the Chicago Marathon in the United States to raise money for an Exmouth-based charity on Sunday (8 October).

Matt Maslen has so far raised almost £3,000 for Pete's Dragons, which offers suicide bereavement support.

Fundraiser at Pete's Dragons Lindsey Barry said: "We are so proud of Matt.

"Not only has he run a marathon in America for us, but he also held a quiz night last month which raised hundreds of pounds.

"Matt's determination in raising these funds will ensure we can keep supporting those people in our community that really need it."
