73% of East Devon adults have had first vaccine dose, latest statistics show

As of 18 April, 73.9% of all adults in East Devon have had their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, latest statistics show.

The percentage is a 2.2% increase on the 71.7% recorded on 28 March for the same statistic.

Across the rest of Devon, 67.1% of adults have had their first dose, with 20.9% of all adults also having received a second dose.

Many will be invited to have the vaccination by their GP.

You are eligible if for a COVID vaccination if:

- You were aged 45 or over on or before 30 March 2021

- You are at high risk from coronavirus (clinically extremely vulnerable)

- You have a condition that puts you at higher risk (clinically vulnerable)

- You have a learning disability

- You get a Carer's Allowance, get support following an assessment by your local authority or your GP record shows

- You are a carer

It's important not to contact the NHS if you are not yet eligible.
