Update 8 November 7.32am: The road has now reopened.

The A376 Exmouth Road is currently closed both ways after two trees fell onto power cables near Exton.

The road is closed from Exton Lane to Pink House Corner north of Lympstone.

The incident was first reported at around 9pm on Monday (7 November).

A spokesperson for Devon County Council said: "We have a confirmed report of two fallen trees on power lines on the A376 Exton.

"The carriageway is blocked in both directions. Please find an alternative route until resolved."
