A379 Exeter Road, Kenton, closed for 10 nights for essential work from Monday 18 March

The A379 Exeter Road, Kenton, will be closed overnight for two weeks to carry out essential resurfacing and drainage work.
The road will be closed for 10 nights starting from Monday 18 March to Friday 29 March.The road, which runs through Kenton, will be closed from 7pm each weekday evening, re-opening no later than 7am the following morning. There will be no weekend working.
On the week commencing Monday 18 March, work will be carried out to repair and increase the capacity of existing surface drainage system.Once the drainage work is completed instances of surface road flooding will be less likely. The following week (commencing Monday 25 March) the road will be re-surfaced.
The road closure will be between just south of the junction next to Mill Farm on the North side of the closure, and at the south side of the closure the closure point will be just west of the Warborough Hill / A379 junction.There will be no through road access, however people who live or work in streets cut off by the closure will be allowed access to homes and businesses during the night-time closures, although they may be asked to wait a short time until it is safe to do so.
Access will always be maintained for emergency vehicles.The number 2 bus service will not serve Kenton during the losure. Stagecoach services will follow the diversions as far as Starcross on the south side of the closure and Exminster on the Northern side of the closure.
The first No.2 bus that will serve Kenton after the road has been re-opened will be the 07.20am service at Kenton triangle travelling in the Exeter direction, and traveling in the Starcross direction will be at 07.09pm service.Stagecoach have said they will attach notices to bus stops informing passengers of the changes.
