Exmouth RNLI crews helped two people in two separate emergencies on the evening of Saturday 13 August.

The first took place when members of the public waved down a lifeboat on its way back to the station at around 7.25pm.

They were on the part of Exmouth beach opposite the Cavendish Hotel near the marina.

A 29-year-old man was unconscious and given oxygen and first aid by the RNLI crew. A Devon Air Ambulance helicopter then arrived, alongside paramedics from South Western Ambulance Service, and they took over care of the casualty.

The second emergency involved another of Exmouth RNLI's lifeboats as it was being brought back on shore near the lifeboat station.

A group of people waving from a small RIB (rigid inflatable boat) caught the attention of the RNLI at around 7.50pm.

One person in the boat had suffered a back injury and was in serious pain.

Exmouth RNLI crew gave them first aid and the RIB was brought ashore before care of the casualty was taken over by the South Western Ambulance Service.
