The owner of a local cycling shop is set to run the London Marathon this year.

Andy Grist of Exmouth Cycles on Victoria Road will run the 26 miles in aid of Get Kids Going, a charity that gives disabled children and young people opportunities to take part in sport.

Funds raised would go towards supplying specialist equipment, training, therapies, ongoing support and any competition fees.

Andy said: "Barriers are there to be overcome and Get Kids Going champions this attitude through inspiring disabled people when they are young.

"I'm pleased to be part of fundraising with them so all children have equal opportunities in sports and recreation and for potentially inspiring the next generation of Paralympians.

"The marathon will be a great challenge. Thanks for your support."

The marathon will take place on Sunday 2 October, and Andy's fundraising target is £900.

You can donate on his JustGiving page here or by visiting the shop and putting cash into a tin.
