A body was found on the beach at Orcombe Point over the weekend police have reported this evening.

Officers were sent to the scene at around 6.20am on Saturday, August 22, with reports that a body had been found on the beach near Orcombe Point.

Emergency services attended the scene and, sadly, a male was declared deceased. Formal identification is yet to take place.

The circumstances of the death are still being investigated and enquiries are ongoing.
