Councillors will consider whether to grant planning permission to raise and level football pitches at Warren View Sports Ground next week.

Submitted on behalf of Exmouth Town Football Club, the plans would see the playing pitches raised by around a metre or less in most places.

According to the planning documents, the site floods regularly due to poor drainage and is located within flood zone three, the highest risk category. The land is also reportedly "undulating with an uneven surface".

Council officers have recommended councillors approve the plans when East Devon District Council's planning committee meets next Tuesday (24 October).

Concerns had been raised about drainage, but Devon County Council's Flood Risk Management Team considers the proposal "acceptable in principle" only if more information is submitted before work starts.
