A date has been set for the first meeting of Exmouth's new Dangerous Dads group.

The Dangerous Dads Network has set up a new group in Exmouth and its first meeting will take place in February.

Dangerous Dads run regular, fun activities for fathers and male carers with children of all ages, both daughters and sons.

Exmouth's Dangerous Dads group will be led by Outdoor Educator, Forest School Leader and self-confessed Nature Nerd Chris Holland.

The first meeting in February will include making birdseed pizzas for Phear Park's feathered inhabitants.

There are more than 20 Dangerous Dads groups in the UK, a few internationally as well and new groups are being set up all the time.

Dangerous Dads was created by Ian Blackwell, from Devon, in 2007.

According to the Dangerous Dads website: "Ian has experience as a course leader and activity organiser, and has run events at museums, in the countryside and along coastal areas around the UK.

"He worked at Plymouth University as the Project Manager for the Natural Connections Project, one of the largest outdoor learning projects in the UK.

"He is now a PhD student at The University of St Mark and St John researching the impact and benefits of outdoor fathering programmes.

"Ian is a Level 3 Qualified Forest School Leader and a Muir Trek Award leader, a member of the Forest School Association and the Institute for Outdoor Learning."

Exmouth's first Dangerous Dads meeting will take place at Phear Park between 10.30am and 12.30pm on Saturday, February 15.
