Domestic property fire at Fernpark Close, Exeter

Date: 20.12.2018Time: 14:00Location: Fernpark Close, ExeterDevon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received a call from a member of the public reporting a fire in the roof of their property at the above location.

Fire appliances from Middlemoor and Danes Castle were immediately mobilised to the incident.

Further calls suggested that the fire had broken through the roof, so Fire Control made the decision to mobilise an Aerial Ladder Platform from Danes Castle.

On arrival the incident commander confirmed that there was a fire in the second floor of the property and quickly got crews to work with two Hose Reel Jets, one Main Jet, one Safety Jet, four Breathing Apparatus and the Aerial Ladder Platform to tackle the fire.

14:14 The Incident Commander made pumps four, so two further appliances were sent from Topsham and Exmouth.

14:51 The Incident Commander has requested additional resources as a make pumps six. Appliances from Danes Castle and Ottery St Mary have been mobilised to the incident, along with a Command Support Unit from Honiton
