Building work to upgrade the skatepark in Phear Park, Exmouth is expected to be complete by the end of October, East Devon District Council has said.

It will become an 'Olympic-standard training facility', costing £365k. East Devon District Council paid £240k towards the project, and Exmouth Town Council £125k.

A group of 30 local skatepark users was reportedly consulted about the project.

The construction is expected to be complete by the end of October, totalling 21 weeks.

A spokesperson for East Devon District Council said: "The park will accommodate people of all ages and abilities.

"It allows newcomers to learn and develop as well as having extremely technical sections that will engage and test competent riders.

"There really is something for everyone!"
