A winter deal of £2 for the whole day in car parks in East Devon is now in effect.

It will last until the end of March 2024, and applies only to car parks operated by East Devon District Council.

A spokesperson said: "With Christmas just around the corner, EDDC's winter car parking deal encourages people to shop local and support their high street.

"Residents and visitors can enjoy a full day out this winter, exploring what East Devon has to offer, without having to rush back to their car.

"It is hoped that reduced car park charges will help to boost trade throughout the season, especially during the typically quieter months of January and February."

Both cash and card payments are accepted and the special location code for the RingGo app is 42973.

The local authority has advised that although printed tickets might not show an expiry time of midnight they will still be valid for the whole day.

Also, Sideshore Car Park in Exmouth, Otter Estuary Nature Reserve in Budleigh Salterton and Lyme Street in Axminster are not included in the offer as they are managed by East Devon but are owned privately.
