An Exmouth artist has created a new print celebrating the best of Ukraine.

The giclee art print is designed to help people show their support, and also for refugees arriving in the local area to remember their homeland.

Julia Gash has created more than a thousand similar artworks related to international travel. Her new Ukraine print is drawn in blue and yellow (the colours of the national flag), and features drawings of the Monument of Independence in Kyiv, sunflowers (the country's national flower), and a tractor pulling a tank.

Julia said: "It is inconceivable for me to continue to discover and draw places around the world without being affected by the invasion of Ukraine and catastrophic consequences of Russia's act of aggression against one of its neighbours.

"I therefore decided to create a piece of art that will enable people across the world to share their support for the Ukraine as well as helping refugees to remember their homeland as they try to recover from the trauma and loss of war."

The prints are available to buy online here, and the proceeds will reportedly go to to the people of Ukraine via the not-for-profit organisation Ukrainian Events in London.

Four prints will also be given away to Ukrainian families coming to Exmouth.

It comes thanks to a donation of four picture frames from Marcia Fletcher, who is a member of a local residents' group with Julia.

If you are hosting a Ukrainian refugee family and would like them to have one of the prints, you can contact Marcia at [email protected].
