East Devon District Council has issued a further apology for delays to waste and recycling collections and is advising residents that collections will be made one day later than scheduled this bank holiday weekend.

A spokesperson said: "We acknowledge that, due to acute staff shortages, collections are being disrupted but we will work as closely as we can to the planned 'one day later' schedule but some collections may get further delays during the holiday week."

Delay updates are available on the council's website, or via its app.

If your waste hasn't been collected after four days, you should take it back in and put it out in carrier bags on the next scheduled collection date.

The collection service for bulky items has been suspended.

How long will this go on for?

In short, until new staff can be found.

There are currently job opportunities for LGV Class 2 drivers, van drivers and loaders - apply by calling James Gatter on 01395 234500.
