Fire engines from Exmouth and Ottery St Mary were sent to put out a vehicle on fire at West Hill near Ottery St Mary last night.

The incident, on West Hill Road, occurred yesterday evening (June 28) just after 7pm.

A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said: "Fire engines were quickly mobilised and soon arrived on scene, confirming vehicle well alight.

"Fire crews got to work using one hose reel jet and two breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire.

"The vehicle was damaged by the fire; the cause of the fire was accidental."
