Firefighters from Exmouth were sent to Budleigh Salterton yesterday after reports of a fridge on a fire in a first floor flat.

Two fire crews from Exmouth Fire Station were dispatched to Station Road at around 5pm.

On arrival firefighters found the fridge to be well alight. Firefighters in breathing apparatus entered the flat and a hose reel jet and a covering jet were used to put out the fire.

By 5.47pm the fire had been extinguished and the fridge was removed from the property.
