Parents will be able to book appointments in Devon from the end of today (Friday 22 October) for their 12 to 15-year-old children to have the first dose of the Pfizer Covid vaccine.

The NHS' online National Booking System, or 119 number, can be used to book appointments available as soon as tomorrow at the following locations:

  1. Home Park, Plymouth, PL2 3DQ
  2. Greendale Vaccination Centre, Woodbury Salterton, Exeter, EX5 1EW
  3. English Riviera Centre, Chestnut Avenue, Torquay, TQ2 5LZ
  4. Barnstaple Leisure Centre, Seven Brethren Bank, Sticklepath, Barnstaple EX31 2AP

NHS Devon's Chief Nurse Darryn Allcorn said: "Covid-19 rates are currently highest among people of school age in Devon. Many are passing the virus on to their parents and other family members.

"We strongly recommend young people take up the opportunity to have the Covid-19 vaccination whether in school or at one of our local vaccination centres."

Parents and guardians are advised to come with their children to appointments outside of school hours as consent will be sought.
