UPDATE - Two arrests after reported assault and suspected arson in Exmouth

Two men have been arrested after an alleged assault in Exmouth and a fire that is believed to have been started deliberately.

Police were called to a property in Rolle Street shortly after 2.30am this morning (Tuesday, February 23) following reports of an assault.

On arrival they found a man who was reported to have been attacked and a fire in the lounge of the second-floor property, which was extinguished by firefighters.

The man was taken to hospital by ambulance, and police say the fire is being treated as suspicious.

Two men from Exmouth, aged 28 and 33, have been arrested on suspicion of assault and arson. They both remain in police custody, and enquiries are continuing.
