Many of Exmouth RNLI's most dramatic and daring rescues have been put to paper in a new book looking at the work of the RNLI.

Surviving the Storms features accounts from RNLI crew members who threw themselves into danger time and time again to keep our coasts safe.

A spokesperson for Exmouth RNLI said: "We're delighted to announce the arrival of Surviving the Storms, a brand-new book providing first-hand accounts of some of our most dramatic rescues from the past 20 years.

"From volunteers at RNLI - Lerwick Lifeboat rescuing the crew onboard a sinking ship, a Tynemouth RNLI lifeboat crew member's account of the RNLI's longest ever shout, to lifeguards in Cornwall saving the lives of people just moments away from drowning – this book is jam-packed with drama!"

The book went on sale yesterday (June 11), with the royalties from every copy sold used to support the RNLI.

Surviving the Storms is available from Sainsbury's, Tesco and Asda stores, as well as independent book shops and at Waterstones.

You can order a hardback copy of the book here.
