Exmouth: Man dies in M5 car and lorry crash near Tiverton

Police are appealing for witnesses of a fatal crash on the M5 near Tiverton.

The incident occurred last night (Monday 9 August) and involved a silver Saab 93 and a Scania HGV on the southbound carriageway around one mile south of Junction 27.

Police were called to the incident at 10.40pm. The male driver of the Saab suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The southbound carriageway was closed for more than seven hours so that a full investigation of the scene could be carried out.

The police have asked for any witnesses who were in the area at the time to contact them via [email protected] or by telephone on 101, quoting log 0975 of 09/08/21.
