Exmouth Museum has issued an appeal for more people to join its ranks of volunteer stewards.

No experience is necessary for the role - just 'a love of Exmouth and its past'.

The museum hosts a variety of exhibits and local artefacts including a recreation of a 1940s parlour with an original fireplace from an Exmouth house, a Bronze Age sword found on Pole Sands, and historic photographs.

The building itself dates back to 1902, and once housed horses used for road maintenance and waste collections.

A spokesperson said: "Exmouth Museum is in need of volunteer stewards so if you can only give a few hours please get in touch and we would love to welcome you to the family that is the volunteer stewards.

"No experience is necessary or even a deep knowledge of Exmouth's history, just a love of Exmouth and its past.

"Go on, you know you want to!"

To find out more and to apply, email [email protected] or [email protected].

The museum can be found on Sheppard's Row here.
