Police in Exmouth issued a warning yesterday (29 July) to local residents after receiving reports of cold callers in the area.

People have reportedly been knocking on doors over the last few days, offering to do residents' gardening or clean their gutters.

A police spokesperson said on social media: "We strongly advise you not to enter into any arrangements on your doorstep with unverified trades.

"Lists of approved tradespeople are available online or through local council approved schemes.

"If you are approached by anyone who makes you feel uncomfortable or suspicious please call us on 101, taking note of any vehicle details if safe to do so."
