Exeter Road Community Primary School in Exmouth celebrated World Book Day on Thursday (2 March).

The event saw children across the school dressing up as characters from their favourite stories, as well as trips to the library to borrow books and to town to spend their book tokens.

"We dressed up as book characters, enjoyed a storyteller who visited our classes, all took a book out from the library and some classes went to town to spend their book tokens."

World Book Day is a yearly event which sees every schoolchild in the UK and Ireland given book tokens to encourage reading for pleasure.
