Exmouth reggae band to donate single proceeds to fight climate change

Exmouth based dub and reggae band The Barefoot Bandit are donating the download proceeds from their latest single to raise awareness of climate change.

Working closely with socio-political movement, Extinction Rebellion, The Barefoot Bandit release their new single Floods – 'an audible fight for awareness and education towards climate change and global warming'.

The release also includes a lyric video featuring footage from the XR archive plus shocking pictures of how the human race affects the environment.

All download proceeds from the release will be donated to the Extinction Rebellion crowdfunder.

A spokesperson for the band said: "The Barefoot Bandit has always protested against social injustice and inequality on Earth, and climate change is a current issue that should concern us all.

"Together, humans can collaborate to slow down the speed of the effects from the planet's temperature rise."

Extinction Rebellion (XR) is a socio-political movement intending to 'utilise non-violent resistance in order to avert climate breakdown, halt biodiversity loss and minimise the risk of human extinction and ecological collapse'.

Extinction Rebellion was established in the United Kingdom in May 2018 with around one hundred academics signing a call to action in support in October 2018.
