Exmouth residents reminded to register to vote

With a General Election approaching Exmouth residents are being reminded to ensure they are registered to vote in this important poll.
In order to vote, residents must be on the electoral register and East Devon District Council is urging residents not currently registered at their address to make sure that they register in time.
The deadline to register to vote is midnight on Tuesday, November 26, and you can register online - It takes just five minutes. You will need your date of birth and National Insurance number to hand.

Poll cards will be sent out in mid-November and if you do not receive one you may not be on the electoral register.
Mark Williams, Acting Returning Officer for the East Devon constituency, said: "If you have recently turned 18 or moved home, it is particularly important that you act to ensure that you are registered to vote.
"It takes just a few minutes online and means that you can take part in this important election."
If you're away on polling day or unable to vote in person, you can apply to vote by post or by proxy.
The deadline for postal vote applications is 5pm on Tuesday, November 26. The last day to apply for a proxy vote is 5pm on Wednesday, December 4.
