Exmouth RNLI tend to upturned vessel running adrift
Exmouth RNLI were called out early this morning (June 27) to secure a small vessel that had come loose from its mooring near Exmouth seafront.
A spokesperson for Exmouth RNLI said: "At 06:17hrs this morning, HM Coastguard requested the launch of Exmouth RNLI D-Class Inshore Lifeboat 'Peggy D' to a report of an upturned vessel near buoy no.10 off Exmouth Seafront.
"The lifeboat, launched by RNLI crew volunteers Robert Thompson and James Edge, and manned by Harry Griffin, Henry Mock and David Preece, immediately made its way to the scene.
"On arrival it appeared that the small tender had come loose from its mooring and was running adrift. The crew secured the vessel and bought it ashore by the Harbour View slipway in Exmouth.
"The Inshore Lifeboat returned to Exmouth Lifeboat Station and was back on service a short time later."
