Exmouth: Simon Jupp MP votes against Covid passports in Tory revolt
East Devon MP Simon Jupp voted against the government yesterday (Tuesday 14 December) on the issue of Covid passports.
The vote saw as many as 99 Conservatives rebel against Johnson's government, but the measures were passed with the support of Labour MPs.
Simon Jupp MP previously said on Twitter that he would not support the Prime Minister's plans: "Vaccine passports are divisive and discriminatory.
"They do not stop the spread of Covid. Plan B will cost jobs in many sectors, including hospitality. Working from home won't help our social or economic recovery."
The new rules mean that you may need to produce an NHS Covid Pass if you want to get into certain venues and large events.
You can get a Covid pass if you have had two doses of the vaccine, or have proof of a recent negative test.
