On Tuesday 10 December, Exmouth St John Ambulance Badgers held an award ceremony and welcomed new recruits into the 'sett'.

Unit manager, Vikki Atkins spoke to Nub News and told us: "The group that teaches seven to ten year olds first aid and a number of other subjects presented over 30 certificates to the Badgers.

"This included Active Badger, All About Me Badger and First Aider Badger.

"Also five cups and shields were awarded for various outstanding contributions to the sett in the fields of first aid skills, improvement at the sett, keeping their Badger promises to try their best in absolutely everything, and being recognised as the leaders Badger for service to the sett and as the groups Badger of the year.

"They also enrolled six new Badgers to the unit.

Simon Lee, unit leader, praised the young people's efforts: "It has been a fantastic year for our Badgers and we have been very busy making sure all our young people met their full potential.

"We are a growing unit with six new Badgers enrolled tonight and many others gaining their next stage award.

"We are looking forward to continuing this success next year."
