Firefighters rescued two people trapped in a car in Exmouth on Friday (6 October).

The pair, who sustained minor injuries, became trapped when the car rolled onto its side after a crash with another car on Summer Lane.

Fire crews were called to the scene just before 9.30pm and the incident was quickly resolved.

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Two fire appliances from Exmouth were mobilised to Summer Lane in Exmouth, following a call from police requesting our assistance to a two-vehicle RTC, involving two cars, where one of the vehicles rolled coming to rest on its side, trapping two occupants.

"Crews were on scene within minutes and set to work stabilising the vehicles before planning the extrication of both casualties.

"They were released from the vehicle with minor injuries and the incident was brought under control at 9.45pm.

"The casualties were left in the hands of ambulance paramedics and the incident left in the hands of police, once our crews made both the vehicles and scene safe."
