First Glimpse: See inside Exmouth's new restaurant, bar inside Manor Hotel
A new restaurant and bar are set to open next week inside Exmouth's Manor Hotel on the Beacon.
Both the restaurant, Samphire21, and bar, Hat or Lemon, are set to open their doors to the public on Thursday 10 March.
Exmouth Nub News went down for a look inside to give readers a sneak preview of what's on offer.
The new restaurant
Samphire21 will feature 'modern and classic dishes' including steaks, seafood, and Sunday lunches - and it caters for 'all dietary requirements'.
It will also have the award-winning Peter Mundy as its head chef.
Peter said: "It's a twist between fine dining and good honest food: something for everybody.
"We don't want people to be out-priced by coming here, we want people to be relaxed."
The name, Samphire21, comes from the edible coastal plant samphire - pots of which can be found on the tables for decoration.
Also decorating the restaurant is artwork by local artists Anna Fitzgerald and Roger Hann.
Two driftwood sculptures by Brendan Rawlings of a cow and an octopus can also be seen at the rear.
The new bar
The new bar Hat or Lemon will offer a wide variety of cocktails, as well as an extensive wine list. Samphire21 will provide snacks for the bar, including fish skin crisps and burgers.
Bar Manager Thomas Lelliott, who has been working in bars since he was 18, said: "Our final menu hits 39 cocktails, which are classics, newer creations in the world of drinks, and some that I've [created] myself ... and six non-alcoholic cocktails.
"We're more than happy to cater to any request that people have, as long as it's within our powers to do so.
"On our vast wine list, there's something for everyone from the beginner to the connoisseur."
