Budleigh Salterton Cricket Club is pleased to announce a fantastic event celebrating the move from its historic Ottermouth ground to its new home on East Budleigh Road.
Everyone is invited to come and say their farewells at a special event to mark the end of the club's tenure at the ground before it is returned to nature!
'Over and Out' - an afternoon of family fun - is planned for Sunday 4 September to give the community chance to say goodbye to Budleigh Salterton Cricket Club's historic home of nearly 100 years.
The following weekend the club will leave the site as part of the EA's £9m scheme to flood the lower Otter as part of the Lower Otter Restoration Project designed to reconnect the river to its original flood plains.
Emotions are expected to be high as players (past and present), their families, and anyone with a connection to the club gather to say their goodbyes in preparation for BSCC's move to Janey's Field on the outskirts of town.
But, as well as an official farewell, the event is as much about celebrating the club's exciting plans for its new home – a cutting edge facility capable of meeting the needs of men's, ladies' and junior cricket, as well as all forms of disability cricket.
The afternoon will begin with children vs. adults cricket matches at 12pm, followed by a Club XI vs Legends XI T30 match at 2pm. The fun will continue from the afternoon into the evening with a giant inflatable obstacle course, live music, bar, refreshments and side stalls. Entry will be free throughout the day!
