Guided tours of Higher Uppacott, a Grade I listed 14th century medieval farmhouse on Dartmoor, are now available to book.

Both people and cattle were reportedly accommodated in the 'longhouse' under a single roof.

A spokesperson said: "The only way to explore this building is to book on a guided tour; you will get the chance to see its development from medieval beginnings through to the present day.

"Higher Uppacott vividly illustrates the major changes in domestic family life and the social structures of Dartmoor farming folk over the centuries."

All tours start at 10.30am (unless it says otherwise), and last around 90 minutes at a cost of £6 per person.

Dates available for guided tours are:

  • Monday 1 May;
  • Sunday 28 May;
  • Saturday 10 June;
  • Sunday 25 June;
