The team at LED's Exmouth Tennis and Fitness Centre say they are excited about a new gym refurbishment taking place this month which will bring more smart technology to the centre.

The gym will be closed for refurbishment from Monday, February 10, and will re-open again on Monday, February 17. All customers can use the gym at nearby Exmouth Leisure Centre throughout this period.

What's happening to the Gym?

-The back wall will be removed, to create more space and the gym will be getting a makeover and some exciting new kit.

-The newly created space will allow for a bigger free weights area and a new Technogym half squat rack.

-The new Kinesis resistance machines are unlike traditional weighted cable equipment; these machines provide free movement, which provides a more challenging workout. The primary focus of Kinesis includes core strength, body strength and endurance.

Lindsay Wright, Fitness and Wellbeing Lead at the Tennis Centre, said: "Our team is incredibly excited about the refurbishment of Exmouth Tennis Centre Gym and our customers are looking forward to seeing and using the new state of the art Kinesis and Artis equipment.

The Artis range offers the utmost cardio and strength training experience and comes with the latest smart technology which allows you to track and save your biometrics in the background by linking it to the mywellness app.

The Kinesis resistance range offers unlimited functional training possibilities, meaning there is not just one but multiple different movements that can be achieved with just one station.

Additional space is being created to allow for more free weights and additional pieces of equipment to provide more variety to our customers' day to day workouts."

Keeping the kids active during half-term

For 11-15 year olds looking for things to do during half-term, Get Active supervised gym sessions offer a safe introduction to working out. Sessions require advanced booking and times for w/c 17th Feb will be as follow:

11+ - Mon, Weds, Fri - 10.00-11.30

14+ - Mon-Fri – 17.00-19.00

14+ - Sat-Sun – 10-12.00
