Injured man trapped in overturned van – Exmouth firefighters sent to the scene

Firefighters from Exmouth were sent to help rescue a man trapped in a van after the vehicle overturned yesterday.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service sent a fire crew from Exmouth to Harepath Hill near Seaton with specialist equipment after reports of a man trapped in a overturned van at around 11am yesterday (April 12).

Exmouth's firefighters joined crews from Seaton and Colyton at the scene.

Firefighters were able to free the man using a triple extension ladder and a hose reel jet.

The man was given first aid at the scene by firefighters before hew was transferred to the care of paramedics.

The incident has now been 'handed over to police'.
