Three local children have walked and run 109 miles, the same distance an Exmouth ambulance travels in an average shift, for charity.

Six-year-olds Emily, Ophelia, and Bea raised over £500 for the South Western Ambulance Charity as part of its 'Outrun an Ambulance' challenge.

Emily's mother Sarah said: "We are massively proud of the girls. They love a challenge and are always up for doing something. They just think ambulance crews are heroes!"

One of the children, Bea, added: "Everything was amazing. When we walked we played, and we ran ahead and sang, and we found worms and flowers and insects too".

If you'd like to raise money for the South Western Ambulance Charity by doing taking part in the challenge, you can do so by running, walking, swimming, scooting, hand-cycling, or riding 'anything that is self-propelled'.

It's designed for all abilities - meaning you can choose your own timeframe and 'outrun' the distance by at least one mile either solo or as part of a team.
