Man and child seriously injured in crash which has closed the A30

A man has been seriously injured and a child has also been injured in a serious crash on the A30 this afternoon.

Emergency services were called at around 2.20pm today (May 30) to a serious road traffic collision on the A30 at Whimple involving a car, lorry and campervan.

Police, paramedics, the fire service and the air ambulance are currently on the scene.

One man has sustained serious injuries and a child has also sustained injuries, the severity of which is unknown at this time.

The extent of any other injuries is not yet known. The road was closed in both directions for the air ambulance to land.

The eastbound carriageway will be closed for several hours. Traffic is being diverted at Daisymount.
