Man who fell into River Exe rescued by Exmouth's Specialist Water Rescue Team

Exmouth's Specialist Water Rescue Team were called in to help rescue a man who had fallen into the River Exe in the early hours of this morning.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service were alerted to the incident near Exeter at 1.46am today (July 13).

The Specialist Water Rescue Team joined firefighters from Danes Castle. After the man was found firefighters using water rescue equipment managed to get the man safely to dry land.

A spokesperson for the fire service said: "He was conscious and breathing and was left in the hands of the Ambulance crew."
