Latest statistics show that as of 2 May, 40.6% of adults in East Devon have had the second dose of the coronavirus vaccine.
In Devon as a whole, 69.5% of adults have had at least one dose, while 32.4% have had two.
An Oxford-ONS (Office for National Statistics) analysis of more than 370,000 survey participants recently found infections reduced by 65% after a single dose of the vaccine.
Steve Brown, Director of Public Health Devon, said: "We are learning more and more about the vaccines and their impact not just in protecting the individuals who have had their jab, but also on the impact it has on the transmission of the virus.
"Please take up the vaccine when it's offered to you, if not just to protect you, but to also help protect others."
Anyone who has an appointment for a first or second dose of the vaccine at the large vaccination centre at Westpoint, Exeter should go to the new site at the Greendale Business Park if their appointment is scheduled for 7 May or after. Greendale is just over two miles from the existing site, and clear signage will be in place to guide patients from Westpoint.
Appointments at the GP-led sites at Exmouth Tennis and Fitness Centre are set to be added to the National Booking Service, with a date to be confirmed. For now, the practices continue to contact patients directly.
